Violets are of course reminiscent of beautiful purple amethyst, February's birthstone. The florals surround the rim of the plate, with plenty of greenery, and a gold lustre edge. the backside indicates 1970. 

Strange trivia: due to their dimensions, these are technically salad plates! Who knew?? And if you used it as a decorative plate, nobody would bat an eye. Except maybe your Honey, who'd be batting their eyes at YOU for such a thoughtful gift.
